INDIA ENERGY SECTOR WORKSHOP - 2026

A Joint IEA – World Energy Council India Workshop

Fourth edition of World Energy Council India & International Energy Agency (IEA) collaborative workshop on the ‘India Energy Sector ‘ from 15th –17th September 2026, organised at Scope Complex, New Delhi.

The programme witnessed participation of 54 professionals from 18 entities, including experts from IEA and major energy sector entities such as Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Power Finance Corporation Ltd., Power Grid Corporation Of India Limited (Powergrid), Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Confederation of Indian Industry, GAIL (India) Limited, Grid Controller of India Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Iocl), IREDA Ltd., NHPC Limited, DTL, REC Limited., Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, GE Vernova, NTPC, and WEC India. The cohort provided deep insights from their respective areas of expertise and was able to develop meaningful perspectives on the Indian energy sector.

The key discussion areas were Global and Indian Energy outlook, Impact of AI, Energy storage, Nuclear energy, Grid modernization, clean energy supply & energy security (including Oil & Gas).

Mr Sandeep Naik, ED, WEC India and ED (Corporate Planning), NTPC, shared vision and guiding words, Mr Vivek Kumar Gupta, In-charge, WEC India and AGM (Corporate Planning), NTPC, delivered the welcome address. Ms Maria Silicia addressed participants through a recorded message. Mr Shayak Sengupta, India Programme Officer, IEA, also addressed the participants.

The speakers from the IEA included Mr Max Schoenfisch, Mr Shayak Sengupta, Mr Zubin Postwalla, Mr Anthony Vautrin and Mr Alay Patel.
