WEC India Workshops & Dialogues
“WEC India Energy Dialogues”, is a series of short duration focused discussions on critical energy issues. These follow a format of discussions; stakeholders’ meet or workshops. Some of the important dialogues held under this banner include; NREL Workshop, Workshop on “Battery Energy Storage”, Future of Energy: Global Hydrogen Perspectives & Strategies, Understanding Investor Expectations on ESG Risks in the Energy Sector, Tracking Global Clean Energy Transitions During The Covid-19 Crisis, Impact of Covid-19 on The Energy Sector Globally, Stakeholders’ meet on; ‘Energy Storage’, ‘Natural Gas Based Combined Heat and Power & Combined Heat Power and Cooling’(CCHP).
NREL Workshop
- A workshop hosted by Power Foundation and conducted by National Renewable Energy Limited (NREL) of U.S Department of Energy on ReEDS (Regional Energy Deployment Model) -India tool was held on 7-9 September 2022.
- Mr. Ilya Chernyakhovskiy, Grid System Researcher, NREL and Mr. Stuart M Cohen, Energy System Analyst, NREL were the faculty for the workshop. Professionals from NTPC, Powergrid, REC, IREDA, Power Foundation, select I-FELP members and WEC India Secretariat participated in the workshop.
- The program imparted conceptual and hands-on training and covered long-term planning for India’s power sector using NREL’s open-access ReEDS India tool.

Stakeholders’ Meet on CHP (Combined Heat & Power – Cogen) / CCHP (Combined Cooling, Heat & Power-trigen)
WEC India organized a Stakeholders’ Meet on “CHP (Combined Heat & Power – Cogen) / CCHP (Combined Cooling, Heat & Power-trigen) in Distributed Natural Gas based Generation” on 9th February 2017 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, with an objective of developing a shared understanding of the market potential and possible business models such as ‘ESCO model’ and an assessment of such opportunities.

“MOVE”- A Global Mobility Summit”
NITI Aayog organised ‘MOVE’ Global Mobility Summit on 7-8 September, 2018 in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. WEC India was associated as Knowledge Partner for the Summit and published a report titled “Zero Emission Vehicles: Towards a Policy Framework”.
The Summit had the participation of Intergovernmental organisations, Global Leaders, international dignitaries, academia, policy think tanks from across the mobility sector. The idea behind organizing the MOVE Summit was to have the Mobility at the centre stage of the entire planning process and to bring the entire ecosystem together to shape the future of Mobility.
