ABOUT WORLD ENERGY COUNCIL

World Energy Council (WEC) is a global body with Member Committees (MCs) across the world. Created in 1923, it’s a global network of energy leaders and practitioners promoting sustainable supply & use of energy. WEC is an UN-accredited global energy body, with more than 3000 member organizations located in around 70 countries and drawn from governments, private and state corporations, academia and NGOs.

WEC hosts high-level events, conducts studies, publishes reports and works through its member network to facilitate energy policy dialogue. It is headquartered in London and works under a regionalized structure. The Council’s activities are coordinated through its secretariat in London. World Energy Congress is the biennial flagship event of WEC.

WEC’s mission is “To promote sustainable supply and use of energy for the greatest benefit of all people.”
