WORKSHOP on : BATTERY ENERGY STORAGE
World Energy Council India (WEC India) organized a workshop on ‘‘Battery Energy Storage” in association with the International Energy Agency (IEA) on 15th December 2021.
Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC & Secretary General, WEC India,delivered the opening remarks and shared his perspectives on Battery Energy Storage at the global and national level, particularly its relevance in the context of the country’s RE expansion plans and climate commitments. During the address, he also shared the initiatives of NTPC in the area of Battery Energy Storage.

Dr Leonardo Paoli, Energy Analyst, Energy Technology Policy Division, IEA; Mr Tae-Yoon Kim, Energy Analyst, Energy Supply and Investment Outlooks Division, IEA; and Ms Amrita Dasgupta, Energy Modeller and Analyst, World Energy Outlook team, IEA were the distinguished speakers at the workshop. Shri Mohit Bhargava, CEO, NTPC REL moderated the session. The workshop had senior level participation from across organizations in the sector. CMD, NHPC; CMD, IREDA; MD, SECI; CMD, PTC; CMD, PFC and CEO, EESL participated in the workshop. Over 220 stakeholders from across the energy sector attended the workshop.
