WEC India Energy Dialogues

“WEC India Energy Dialogues” are short duration focused discussions on energy issues with the objective of catalysing clean energy transition in the Indian energy sector. These follow a variety of formats such as discussions, stakeholders’ meet and workshops. Through the “energy dialogues”, WEC India brings to its stakeholders high level perspectives and analysis by international and Indian experts on energy topics relevant for clean energy transition.

NREL Workshop

  •  A workshop hosted by Power Foundation and conducted by National Renewable Energy Limited (NREL) of U.S Department of Energy on ReEDS (Regional Energy Deployment Model) -India tool was held on 7-9 September 2022.
  • Mr. Ilya Chernyakhovskiy, Grid System Researcher, NREL and Mr. Stuart M Cohen, Energy System Analyst, NREL were the faculty for the workshop. Professionals from NTPC, Powergrid, REC, IREDA, Power Foundation, select I-FELP members and WEC India Secretariat participated in the workshop.
  •  The program imparted conceptual and hands-on training and covered long-term planning for India’s power sector using NREL’s open-access ReEDS India tool.
  •  For ongoing engagement of the workshop participants, NREL has formed Modeling Working Group (MWG).

8th HOCP Forum Meeting

WEC India hosted a webinar on “Impact of Covid-19 on the energy sector globally” with focus on India on 14th May, 2020. The webinar was addressed by Mr. Dave Turk, Deputy Acting Executive Director, International Energy Agency, Paris and Head of the Strategic Initiatives Office. Mr Turk presented the IEA Analysis and his perspectives on the topic.

Strategy Heads of organizations and senior executives from BHEL, DTL, EESL, GAIL, HPCL, IOCL, NHPC, NLC, NTPC, ONGC, POWERGRID, PTC, REC participated in the webinar.

“MOVE”- A Global Mobility Summit”

NITI Aayog organised ‘MOVE’ Global Mobility Summit on 7-8 September, 2018 in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.WEC India was associated as Knowledge Partner for the Summit and published a report titled “Zero Emission Vehicles: Towards a Policy Framework”. The Summit had the participation of Intergovernmental organisations, Global Leaders, international dignitaries, academia, policy think tanks from across the mobility sector. The idea behind organizing the MOVE Summit was to have the Mobility at the centre stage of the entire planning process and to bring the entire ecosystem together to shape the future of Mobility.
